General Manager, Central Organization for Railway Electrification
Shri Naresh Pal Singh, General Manager BLW takes over the additional charge of General Manager Central Organization for Railway Electrification, Prayagraj and of North Central Railway.
An experienced officer of IRSEE, 1988th batch of Indian Railways and a student of IIT, Roorkee, Electrical Engineering, 1987, Shri Naresh Pal Singh has achieved extraordinary achievements while serving in many important positions of the Railways.
In his long career, he has also provided notable service in various capacities in the divisions of Central Railway as Chief Electrical Engineer, Rolling Stock, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Operations, Mumbai.
Under his leadership, Shri Naresh Pal Singh started many innovative projects related to maintenance and operation of electrical, diesel rolling stock, traction distribution and general service assets in Central Railway. In a major project, for the first time in 2x25kV traction system, aerial earth conductor was replaced by installing optical fiber ground wire (OPGW) on the overhead equipment (OHE) mast. This project will provide several benefits to Indian Railways:
* It will provide highly reliable communication path for protection and signal and telecommunication (S&T) requirements.
* Non-fare revenue will increase through additional optic fiber core.
* Communication system in the rail network will be even more robust and secure.
* Ground making technology will save crores of rupees per year for Indian Railways.
This project is not only a symbol of technological advancement but also a step towards the future which will make Indian Railways more strong, secure and self-reliant. Apart from this, under his leadership, a 10 MW floating solar power plant for traction power and a 20x4 MW battery energy storage system were installed in Central Railway.
After assuming charge as General Manager, BLW from November 2024, BLW has set many milestones in the field of locomotive production, some of the important achievements of which are as follows:
The aerodynamic WAP-7 loco manufactured by BLW presented a new example of technical excellence, while a unique step was taken towards green energy by installing solar panels on the rail track.
BLW also did remarkable work under the leadership of Mr. Singh in the field of social responsibility and environmental protection. In the financial year 2024-25, BLW set a new record by manufacturing 477 locos.
